The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation that gathers once a month to hear great talks, sing songs and generally celebrate the wonder of life. Although we are a godless congregation, we are not here to bash religions. We welcome people of all faiths, but no God, gods or supernatural viewpoints can be promoted at The Sunday Assembly.

We would like to foster community spirit in Halifax by providing a secular space for people to meet their neighbours and sing popular music together and hear about the many great things going on in Halifax. We are currently meeting at the Alderney Gate Public Library which is easy to get to by car or transit, especially if you live on the Halifax side and like ferries!

We are still new and trying things out, so we’d love to hear your ideas. Also, we need many more volunteers, so don’t be shy! If you want to perform one of the short speaking parts at an upcoming Assembly, or help out behind the scenes, or if you play a musical instrument, or if you have experience organizing volunteers, or if you want to help but don’t have any idea how, let us know! Our contact information is at the bottom of every page on the site, just choose whichever medium you prefer.

Please remove my email address from all Sunday Assembly literature. This is the second time that an unauthorized (scarey) person has tried to contact me from your address. Thank you.

I apologize that this is happening, but don’t worry that nefarious people have gotten your email address. The email is actually a notification from our WordPress site telling you that your SundayAssembly.com WordPress account has received a message, so the spammer hasn’t emailed you, they’ve sent a WordPress message from their SundayAssembly.com account to your SundayAssembly.com account.

You can stop receiving these emails by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the page (after you’ve logged in) and selecting “Settings”. You can turn off “Messages” under the “Email” tab, then you won’t receive notification if you get a message; you’ll have to log into the site to see them. It is also possible, under “Settings” to “Delete Account” if you’re not satisfied with not receiving notifications by email.
